Why I Became an Acupuncturist

My journey into acupuncture grew from a genuine curiosity about how the body works and how we can support it to feel better, naturally.

Before training as an acupuncturist, I explored yoga, nutrition, and Qi Gong, which helped me understand the connection between energy, movement, and wellbeing. But it was a personal health challenge in my late 20s — an unexpected diagnosis of premature menopause — that really shaped my path and led me to acupuncture.

Experiencing acupuncture for the first time was a turning point. It helped me reconnect with my body and showed me how powerful gentle, supportive treatments can be when they work with the body rather than against it. That experience inspired me to train professionally, and in 2009 I completed a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture at the University of Portsmouth.

Today, I bring together acupuncture with supportive techniques such as cupping, moxa, nutrition guidance, frequency-based therapies, and lifestyle suggestions. Every session is tailored — there’s no one-size-fits-all here. My focus is on helping you feel supported, informed, and at ease, whether you’re dealing with pain, stress, hormonal changes, low energy, or simply want to feel more balanced.

If you’re curious about acupuncture or looking for a calm, practical approach to your health, I’d love to support you
